All About me...
I'm entering my 15th year of teaching, and I can't imagine doing anything else for a career! I enjoy spending my day with my students learning, talking, teaching, laughing, and getting to know each and every student in my care. I have taught eight years of fifth grade throughout my career, with two years in fourth and third grades, one year at second, and my first year of teaching was in middle school.
I have a wonderful family! One daughter lives in Virginia Beach and the older of the two lives right here in Boise. As you can see from my photo, I'm a grandma to Emma (6) and Anastacia (5). I certainly enjoy my granddaughters and visit every chance I get. My dad just moved to Boise this summer to be closer to me.
My higher education was completed at Old Dominion University where I received a bachelors degree in counseling and a masters in education. Learning is very important in my life, and I have taken many credits above my masters degree. Most of my classes have centered around teaching the gifted and talented. I think I'll always be a student---there are so many things I still have to learn and discover.
In my free time I enjoy yoga, cycling, running, reading, hiking, and camping. The dog you will see in the pictures is Stella. She passed away in August of 2012 but she is still in my heart. She was a spunky, 14 year old Boston Terrier that I raised from a puppy. My current "Little Man" is Takoda, a chiweenie I rescued this year from Pet Smart. He's a love and I feel very lucky that he found me! Pictures coming soon.
